Cappel BookClub FB

SHOREWOOD – To encourage young people to continue learning this summer, State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel is reminding parents to sign up their children for her Summer Book Club for students who live in the 49th State Senate District.

“This program will help kids make reading into a habit and prepare them for the upcoming school year,” said Loughran Cappel (D-Shorewood). “I hope the reading club boosts healthy brain development and lifelong learning.”

The Summer Book Club requires students to read eight books of their choice during the summer break, record the names of the books on a form and return the form to Loughran Cappel’s office by Aug. 12. Everyone who completes the Summer Book Club will receive a gift card and certificate from Senator Loughran Cappel.

Visit SenatorLoughranCappel.com to download and print the form. Parents can also call Loughran Cappel’s office at 815-267-6119 to request a copy by mail.

Loughran Cappel urges interested residents to call her office with any additional questions.
