SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel was sworn in to office Wednesday for her third term in the Illinois Senate.
“Since I became state senator, I’ve fought for much-needed infrastructure improvements, lower property taxes for homeowners and worked to improve educational policy,” said Loughran Cappel (D-Shorewood). “I know there are opportunities to build on our progress of making Illinois the best place to work, live and raise a family. I’m confident we can reach our goals by working together across party lines on common-sense solutions.”
Loughran Cappel, a lifelong resident of Will County, has represented the 49th District since her appointment in 2020. The district includes parts of Will and Kendall counties, including Bolingbrook, Plainfield and Joliet.
During her time in the Senate, Loughran Cappel has worked to tackle the ongoing teacher shortage, support small businesses across the state, prioritize working families and advocate for students, educators and veterans.
Loughran Cappel is well-known for her constituent services and strives to keep residents updated with helpful information and resources. She encourages people to reach out to her office at 815-267-6119 or SenatorLoughranCappel.com/ContactUs with questions or concerns.
