CREST HILL – To express love and lift the spirits of local seniors, State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel is collecting store bought or handmade cards to deliver to long-term care facility residents for Valentine’s Day.
“Let’s take some time to show our gratitude and appreciation for seniors in our community,” said Loughran Cappel (D-Shorewood). “A simple note or card can make someone’s day, especially on a day celebrating love.”
Loughran Cappel is collecting store bought and handmade cards for local seniors. People are encouraged to write kind notes and drop them off or mail them to her new district office, located at 20660 Caton Farm Rd. Crest Hill, IL 60403. She is collecting cards until Feb. 6 and then will deliver them to local long-term care facilities.

BOLINGBROOK – State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel’s office will be traveling to the Fountaindale Public Library on Wednesday, Jan. 25 to increase accessibility to residents throughout the 49th District.
“I strive to be the best resource for residents across the district,” said Loughran Cappel (D-Shorewood). “As we begin the new General Assembly, I want to hear what’s important to people and take that with me to Springfield.”
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Fountaindale Public Library located at 300 W. Briarcliff Road in Bolingbrook.
This free event is another effort from Loughran Cappel’s office to increase government accountability and accessibility and help with state resources through hosting office hours at different times, locations and days of the week in hopes of reaching working families across Will and Kendall Counties.

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel was sworn into office Wednesday for another term in the Illinois Senate.
“As a lifelong resident of Will County, I am proud to continue being a voice in Springfield for the residents of the 49th District,” said Loughran Cappel (D-Shorewood). “I will continue working through the challenges our communities face and will fight to better the lives of the people in Illinois.”
Loughran Cappel has represented the 49th District since her appointment in 2020. The district includes parts of Will County including communities such as Bolingbrook, Plainfield and Joliet.
Loughran Cappel has championed many legislative issues, such as addressing the teacher shortage, providing funding for statewide breast cancer services, creating the Children’s Mental Health Council, and strongly advocating for education. She plans to continue fighting for investments in education and mental health services, and advocate for seniors, veterans and small businesses.
